The Best AI Dating Apps in 2026, Ranked by What They Do

The best AI dating apps compared on real App Store data: rizz lines, reply suggestions, profile fixes and chat analysis, plus which apps look abandoned.

The best AI dating apps do four jobs: writing openers and replies (RIZZ, WingAI), fixing profile photos (Sway AI), coaching your habits (Smoothspeak), and reading a chat you already had (Chakam). Chakam is the only one that works in both directions, giving you the line and then showing whether it landed.

Search for the best AI dating apps and you get a wall of listicles, most of them written by one of the apps being ranked. So this one uses a different source: each app’s own App Store listing, checked on the US store on 26 September 2026. Every rating, release date and last-update date below traces back there.

One disclosure first. Chakam is our own app, and it is on this list. We recommend it, we explain exactly why further down, and we have been specific about what it does not do.

What Do AI Dating Apps Actually Do?

Almost every app in this category calls itself an “AI dating assistant”, which hides the fact that they do four genuinely different jobs.

  • Write my messages. You screenshot a chat or a bio, and the app gives you rizz lines and replies to send back.
  • Fix my profile. The app reviews your bio and photos, or generates new ones.
  • Coach me. The app works on your habits over time instead of handing you a line.
  • Tell me what is actually happening. The app reads a conversation you already had and reports the pattern in it.

The first job is by far the most crowded, and it is where the apps are hardest to tell apart. The fourth is nearly empty, which matters more than it sounds, because a line you send is only useful if it works.

The Best AI Dating Apps, One by One

Every app here is free to download and charges for the useful parts. Apple does not publish subscription prices in a way that can be verified from outside, so read the price screen inside the app before subscribing rather than trusting any figure in an article, this one included.

RIZZ

RIZZ is the biggest app in the category by a wide margin. You upload a screenshot of a conversation or a match’s bio and it writes replies.

  • Rating: 4.8 from 39,595 ratings, the largest sample on this list.
  • Age rating: 12+, the lowest here apart from ours.
  • On the store since: January 2023, last updated January 2026.
  • Watch for: a 12+ rating on an app built around flirting is worth knowing if you are handing a phone to a teenager.

WingAI

WingAI does the same core job as RIZZ, aimed explicitly at Tinder, Hinge and Bumble.

  • Rating: 4.8 from 23,575 ratings.
  • Age rating: 17+.
  • On the store since: June 2023, last updated September 2026, the most actively maintained app here.
  • Watch for: the listing claims “2.5x the reply rate of typical openers”. No method is published behind that number, so read it as marketing, not evidence.

Smoothspeak

Smoothspeak is the one app here built around improvement rather than output. Its listing describes an AI coach called Cue that explains the reasoning behind each suggestion.

  • Rating: 4.8 from 18,449 ratings, a lot for an app released in January 2025.
  • Age rating: 17+.
  • Last updated: August 2026.
  • Watch for: the listing leans on credentials, citing AI experts from Stanford and Google and insights from top dating coaches. Neither claim is something a buyer can check.

Sway AI

Sway AI is a profile app rather than a texting one. It reviews your bio and photos and generates new profile pictures.

  • Rating: 4.6 from 5,369 ratings.
  • Age rating: 17+.
  • Last updated: June 2025, over a year ago.
  • Watch for: generated profile photos are the riskiest thing in this whole category. Dating apps verify profiles against a live selfie, so a picture that is not really you creates a problem at verification and a worse one on the first date.

Chakam (our app)

Chakam started as the fourth job and now covers three of the four. It writes rizz lines and replies, it reads a chat you already had, and it tracks what changes over time. It does not touch your photos, and it never will.

  • Rating: none yet. It was released in August 2026 and has no ratings on the US store, which is the honest version of where it stands next to an app with 39,595.
  • Age rating: 4+.
  • Platforms: iPhone and Android, in nine languages.
  • Privacy: chat analysis runs on your phone. For the AI steps, names become anonymous labels and phone numbers, emails, links and handles are stripped first. You can decline the AI entirely and still get a full on-device report, and saved analyses can be locked behind Face ID.
  • Watch for: it is new, and the ratings prove nothing yet. Judge it on the free tier before paying for anything.

Why We Recommend Chakam for Rizz, Replies and Reading the Room

Here is the honest case, and it is a narrow one. Every other app on this list is open loop. It writes you a line, you send it, and nobody ever tells you what happened next. You are a little more charming and no better informed.

Chakam closes that loop, and that is the whole argument for it.

Rizz lines that are about them, not about you. Add what you know about a match, or up to five screenshots of their profile and bio, and you get openers built from what they actually say and share: their prompts, their humour, the places and pets in their photos. Generic lines are the reason most openers die, and a line built from a real detail is a different thing entirely. Pick a tone and you get playful, warm, direct or flirty.

Reply suggestions when you are stuck. Paste what they sent, or screenshot the conversation, and you get three replies in the tone you chose. This is the moment most people screenshot a chat into the group chat and wait twenty minutes for a verdict. It is the most common thing anyone actually needs from an AI dating app.

A check before you hit send. Type the message you are about to send and see how it is likely to land for the person receiving it, with the phrases that could be misread flagged, and three rewrites that say the same thing better. This is the feature nobody else on this list has, and it is the one that prevents the most damage. A message you do not send is worth more than a clever one you do.

Then the part that makes the rest mean something. Import the conversation and Chakam reports the dynamic: who is putting in more effort, reply speed, red and green flags, who starts conflict and who repairs it, ghost risk, and whether interest is quietly fading. Ask it a direct question about your own chat and get an answer drawn from specific moments in it. Re-import weeks later and see exactly what moved.

Patterns across everyone, not just this person. Analyse a few different chats and it shows what repeats across all of them: the same dynamic, the same role, the same ending. That is the part almost nobody sees alone, and it is usually the answer people came looking for.

Quizzes and a pattern library, for the half of this that is you. Thirteen assessments cover attachment style, conflict style, love language and accountability. A library of 37 relationship patterns explains the dynamics in plain language, from anxious-avoidant cycles to trauma bonding and DARVO, and marks the ones showing up in your own chats. There is also a private journal that nothing else in the app ever reads.

Where it will not help you. It cannot fix your photos, it cannot coach you live during a date, and it will not help you pressure or manipulate anyone. Ask it for a line designed to guilt someone into replying and it declines and offers the honest version instead. If you want a machine that writes whatever you tell it to, this is the wrong app.

Why Are There So Many Near-Identical Rizz Apps?

Searching the App Store for “rizz ai dating assistant” returns page after page of apps with nearly the same name, from unrelated sellers, most with fewer than ten ratings. The screenshot-to-reply idea is cheap to build on top of a general AI model, so the category fills with copies faster than anyone can evaluate them.

The practical effect is that ratings stop meaning anything at the bottom of the list. A 5.0 average from four ratings tells you nothing at all. When comparing two apps, look at the number of ratings before you look at the average.

Which of the Best AI Dating Apps Look Abandoned?

The most useful number on an App Store listing is the one nobody reads: the last update date. WingAI was updated in September 2026 and Smoothspeak in August 2026. Sway AI was last updated in June 2025.

Two once-popular apps look worse. Rz AI Dating Copilot, formerly RizzGPT, holds 2,144 ratings but last shipped in August 2024. YourMove AI Keyboard last shipped in November 2024. An app that has not been updated in two years, in a category defined entirely by which AI model it calls, is not one to hand a subscription to.

How Do You Use AI Dating Apps Without Being Fake?

The real worry about this category is that you end up sounding like someone else, then have to be that person in real life. Four rules keep it useful:

  • Use it to start, not to sustain. A generated opener is low cost. Twenty generated messages mean the person is talking to a model, not to you.
  • Edit every line before sending. If a suggestion does not sound like something you would say, it will not survive a phone call.
  • Do not generate photos that are not you. This is the one place these apps can actively damage your dating life.
  • Never use them to pressure anyone. An app that helps you word something clearly is useful. One that helps you wear someone down is not, and that line is easier to cross than it looks.

For the longer version of this argument, see how to use AI in your relationship the right way. If you want the skill rather than the shortcut, how to flirt over text covers what actually makes a message land. And if you are more worried about what the other person is doing than about what to say next, the texting red flags people notice too late is the more useful read.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which AI dating app is the best overall?

There is no single best one, because they do different jobs. RIZZ and WingAI write replies, Sway AI works on your profile, and Smoothspeak coaches habits. Chakam is the only one that both writes lines and reads the conversation afterwards, so it suits people who want to know whether any of it is working.

What is the best rizz app?

RIZZ has the most users by far, so it is the safest pick if all you want is a line. Chakam builds its rizz lines from a match’s own profile and bio rather than from a generic template, and it will tell you afterwards whether the conversation actually went anywhere, which no pure rizz app does.

Are AI dating apps worth paying for?

Some are, if you use them for a specific bottleneck such as opening messages, and stop when it is no longer a bottleneck. They are poor value as a permanent subscription, because the underlying skill does not improve while the app writes for you. Use a free tier long enough to see whether you actually open it.

Is it cheating to use an AI dating app?

Using one to word an opener is closer to asking a friend for advice than to deception. It becomes dishonest when the person is consistently talking to a model rather than to you, or when generated photos misrepresent your appearance. The test is whether meeting you in person would feel like a surprise.

Are AI dating apps safe to use with my private chats?

It depends on the app, and most listings are vague about it. A screenshot contains the other person’s messages as well as yours, so check what the privacy label says is collected and whether names and contact details are removed before anything is sent. Prefer apps specific enough to tell you.

Curious what your own chats say?

Chakam reads a chat you already have and turns it into the same kind of breakdown — on-device, free to start.
